"This source explores the different civilizations co-existing during the middle ages. The author provides an ample amount of context to enhance the readers understanding of the middle ages. A student will learn about the Byzantine Empire, the Islamic empire, the Crusades, the Slavic Empire and much more. This information could be printed out and used by the teacher during class led notes, or it could be creatively used to build students thinking skills through comparing and contrasting. Using this site teachers and students can link to a variety of other topics on the Middle Ages."
